About Bangladesh

Bangladesh, located east of India on the shores of the Bay of Bengal, is a country in South Asia characterized by lush greenery and abundant waterways. Primarily marked by the Padma (Ganges), Meghna, and Jamuna rivers, it is known for its fertile plains and water transport as a primary means of travel. To the south lies the Sundarbans, a vast mangrove forest shared with eastern India, serving as a significant habitat for the Royal Bengal Tiger.

Day 01 - Travel to Sylhet from Dhaka

Upon arrival at Dhaka International Airport, you'll meet your guests and inquire about their well-being. After a brief rest and refreshments, proceed with your journey to Sylhet.

Meals: Lunch and dinner.

Day 02 - Sylhet (The Holy City)

You'll embark on a brief tour of the city, where you'll have the opportunity to visit the renowned Sufi saint Hazrat Shah Jalal's shrine (13th century). It's a sacred place visited by people of all faiths. Additionally, you'll see the ancient bridge built by the British government centuries ago, and on the other side of the city, you'll find a newer bridge offering a fresh perspective of the city at night. Transfer for dinner. Return to the hotel. Free time for personal activities. Overnight stay in a hotel in Sylhet.

If you wish, we can arrange a rickshaw tour of the city for you. Special Activity: At any convenient time during the day, you can enjoy cycling on a designated trail just outside the main city (8 km round trip). Your guide will accompany you. During this time, you'll see the first tea estate of the country, which is 150 years old. Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 03 - Sylhet (The Holy City)

After breakfast, you will embark on a guided tour of Jaflong, a scenic destination located at the India-Bangladesh border. Here, you'll witness the mesmerizing beauty of the Piyan River, known for transporting thousands of stone boulders. You'll also enjoy breathtaking natural views of the Indian mountain city of Dawki. Tamabil Zero Point, also known as No Man's Land, will offer you the opportunity to cross the river on a colorfully decorated boat and experience the unique lifestyle of a tribal village. Before lunch, you'll return from the trip. Enjoy lunch at a highway restaurant. Later, you'll board a traditional wooden boat for a serene cruise on the picturesque Shari River. This river remains green throughout the year. After a few minutes, you'll witness the beautiful valley of the river. Return to the hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel. Special Activity: You can enjoy a walk from Jaflong to Tamabil (approximately 5 km).

Day 04: Sylhet to Srimangal (The Land of Tea)

After breakfast (at 7:00 AM), you'll begin your journey to Srimangal, famously known as the "Land of Tea." The drive will take approximately 2 hours. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel/resort. You'll have a guided tour of Lawachhara Rainforest (a protected rainforest) with a trail alongside the forest. If you're fortunate enough during the wildlife observation time, you may spot rare spectacled langurs, various species of birds, and wildlife. Return to the resort and enjoy dinner. Overnight stay at the resort. Hike Distance: Up to 1.5 kilometers.

Day 05 - Srimangal

In the morning, you can experience tea plucking by cycling in a tea garden. After lunch, you can learn about tea lifestyle, tea processing, and taste rare 5 or 7 layer teas with an assistant guide. You'll then be taken for a visit to a nearby tea garden, followed by a small cultural program at your resort premises. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Srimangal. However, it's highly recommended to take a walk to witness the authentic lifestyle of the Manipuri community, which would be more enjoyable.

Special Event: After dinner, you'll enjoy a special cultural event of the Manipuri community - the famous "Manipuri Dance."

Day 06 - Train from Srimangal to Chittagong

On this day, you'll prepare for a long-distance journey to Chittagong, the commercial capital of the country, by day train. Upon arrival in Chittagong, you'll check into your accommodation for an overnight stay.

Day 07 - Chittagong to Rangamati

In the morning, check out from your accommodation and embark on your journey to Rangamati. En route, you'll have a brief visit to the Second World War Cemetery, where many European and Asian soldiers sacrificed their lives during the war. Additionally, you can visit the Ethnological Museum to explore the cultural heritage of the region. Afterwards, continue your journey to Rangamati (a 2.45-hour drive). Upon arrival at the hotel, check-in, refresh, and then take a short boat ride on the Pedal Ting Ting. You'll have the opportunity to interact with the local community and engage in conversations with them. Return to the mainland and visit the residence of the Chakma chief and their village. Overnight stay in Rangamati.

Day 08 - Rangamati to Bandarban (The Roof of Bangladesh)

Transfer from Rangamati to the mountainous district of Bandarban (a 2.5-hour drive). Before entering this mountainous region, you'll need to present your passports at the Bangladesh Army check post as it is a restricted area for any foreign tourists. After a brief formal check, check-in at your hotel/resort upon arrival, refresh, and then enjoy some free time. After lunch and in the afternoon, you'll be proposed a short visit to the famous "Swarna Mandir" (Golden Temple), a small town adorned with the Buddhist temple. This temple looks as if it's made of gold from afar. Return to the resort/hotel, free time, dinner, and overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Optional Hike: Yes, a possible option is to walk through various small roads within the town. This district hosts twelve different ethnic groups within its borders, and you can learn or experience their different lifestyles, food habits, and marriage customs, which are truly unique.

Day 09: Bandarban

 

After breakfast, you'll embark on a guided full-day excursion to the Shilapropat, Chimbuak Mountain Peak, and Nilgiri by a local non-AC vehicle (these vehicles are specially used for mountainous terrain), experiencing the fusion of clouds with the mountains. After lunch, take a short break, then journey back to the hotel. On the way back, you'll have the opportunity to visit a local tribal village, and if time permits, the palace of a local king. Overnight stay at the hotel.

 

Hike? Yes, definitely. Especially if the weather permits, consider taking a hike to a tribal village near the Sangu River or across the hills. It's a hike of less than 5 km, offering an opportunity for direct interaction with tribal people and the local community.

Day 10: Bandarban to Cox's Bazar

After breakfast, you'll depart from Bandarban for Cox's Bazar (the most popular tourist destination in Bangladesh). After a 2.5-hour drive, you'll arrive at this place, which awaits you with its astonishingly beautiful uninterrupted natural beach, the longest in the world (120 kilometers).

Upon reaching Cox's Bazar, you'll transfer to your hotel, check-in quickly, and then enjoy a leisurely day, swimming in the sea. After sunset, there will be arrangements for a short shopping tour for personal purchases/memorabilia. In the evening, there will be a special dinner and then a specially arranged cultural event for you to enjoy. After the event, overnight stay at Cox's Bazar hotel.

Day 11: Cox's Bazar to Dhaka

The first half of this day is dedicated to enjoying the sea. In the second half, you'll check out from the hotel and transfer to Cox's Bazar domestic airport for your flight to Dhaka. Upon arrival in Dhaka, you'll experience the evening life of the city. Overnight stay at a hotel in Dhaka.

Day 12: Dhaka to Barishal or Jhalokathi

After breakfast, spend the first half of the day visiting the most attractive sites in the city. Explore the city of Dhaka and then drive to the Demra Boat Jetty for a half-day river cruise (4/5 hours) with midday refreshments on board. Experience the beauty of the riverside people and communities, along with a visit to "Jamdani Palli" where you can see the traditional and famous Jamdani sarees being woven and witness the community activities.

Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to visit the Murapara Zamindar Bari (local feudal lord's mansion). Return to the jetty in the evening and board a modern river vessel equipped with century-old paddle steamer aesthetics for the journey to Barishal. Overnight stay on the Barishal cruise.

Day 13: Barishal to Khulna (Southwestern Region of Bangladesh)

Early in the morning, you will depart from Barishal to Khulna by road. On the way, you can have breakfast at a local tea stall or restaurant. You will have a brief stopover to visit the Sixty Dome Mosque (Shat Gombuj Masjid), a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Upon arrival in Khulna, transfer to your hotel. After refreshments, explore the city by rickshaw, experiencing the daily life, local markets, and the vibrant atmosphere. Visit the tea stalls, which are centuries-old places where people from different levels and classes come together to discuss various issues. It's a fascinating place to interact with people from all walks of life, discussing national, global, natural, and sports topics for hours. Overnight stay at a hotel in Khulna.

Day 14: Khulna to Sundarbans

Check out from the hotel in the early morning and transfer to Mongla Port. Here, you can see some old ships, which were once part of a thriving seaport in Bangladesh but are now abandoned. Although the port and its systems may intrigue you, you will soon board a small motorboat reserved just for you. Your journey to the Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will begin.

After a short while, embark on the motorboat and head towards the Harbaria Forest Station. The journey on the boat will take a few hours. Once there, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the forest and its wildlife up close. While food and accommodation arrangements will be made on the boat, please note that there are no attached toilets or shower facilities on board. There are three shared toilets and three bathrooms available for general use. Overnight stay on the boat.

Day 15: Sundarbans to Jashore

On this day, you will enjoy cruising through the canals (resembling small/slim rivers) on a traditional wooden boat. Early in the morning, you'll have the chance to spot wildlife, engage in jungle trekking (on foot? Yes), and observe various bird species. After a few hours of activities, the boat will return to the main land of Khulna for lunch either before or after noon. From Khulna, you'll depart by boat and quickly transfer to Jashore (a 2-hour drive). You'll spend the night in Jashore.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 16: Jashore

In the first half of the day, you'll engage in various activities with the women of the village and enjoy experiences in different tasks and visit homes and shops of the villagers. In the evening, you'll enjoy a traditional cultural event organized by the villagers. You'll spend the night there.

Day 17: Dhaka

Check out in the morning and begin your return drive to Dhaka (6 hours drive). Upon reaching Dhaka in the afternoon, transfer to your hotel, enjoy some refreshments, and spend the evening relaxing or indulging in some shopping if you wish. Overnight stay in Dhaka.

Day 18:

This day involves transferring to the airport either in the morning or in the evening, depending on your flight schedule, for your journey back home.
